 But I haven't started the
graphic. These errors happend overnight while I was on the road trinking
      some rum ;-)

In case you were wondering, we were not taken down by the
RIAA. There was an intrusion on the server Sunday morning which required a
full re-install of the OS software.

was gonna get slapped for this, but i couldn't resist.
 Due to recent
change in code, we can no longer edit posts after 1 hour, but the link is
      now broken.

Song: Ride Captain Ride Artist: The Blues
      Image

Seventy-three men sailed up from the San Francisco
      Bay
Rolled off of their ship, and here's what they had to say
 "We're
callin' everyone to ride along to another shore
 We can laugh our lives
away and be free once more"

But no one heard them callin', no one
      came at all
'Cause they were too busy watchin' those old raindrops
      fall
As a storm was blowin' out on the peaceful sea
 Seventy-three
      men sailed off to history

Ride, captain ride upon your mystery
      ship
Be amazed at the friends you have here on your trip
 Ride
captain ride upon your mystery ship
On your way to a world that others
      might have missed

 (Repeat first two
      verses)

 (Chorus)

Ride, captain ride upon your mystery
      ship
Be amazed at the friends you have here on your trip

I got this error message immediately WU's was
      started

Inspection shows that this error occurs on various
versions of the Core Client, and only seems to be triggered when the
graphics thread is starting. Those who didn't start the graphics finished
okay after I 1) removed the reference to mscorlib.dll for the Random
class, and 2) compiled with BOINC 4.66 rather than the current CVS
      HEAD.

This is a test of graphics, so in some sense that was
succesfull. I had already found one somewhat subtle problem with BOINC
graphics while preparing this app, and now we may have another.

Note also that like previous Pirates graphics apps, if you don't
start the graphics you will get a little bit of credit (2min CPU), but if
you have the graphics turned on then you'll get more (up to 20min CPU) --
once we get the graphics thread to run correctly, of course.

 This library (or
mscorlib.dll) was used by 4.01-4.03 to use the Random class from MS C++ to
generate a single random number, but since it failed I removed it from
      4.04.

Also, 4.04 was compiled with the old but stable BOINC
      4.66.

 I
remember the song, and I with you that it fits. And I wonder if our active
crew is any larger than 73 men (and women)? :-)

 Unfortunately, I
have to ask you to unlink to it, or we'll get shut down by the RIAA for
      being music pirates!

 WinXPSP1. I have an MSCOREE.DLL
v1.1.4322.573, is it supposed to be in
      WINDOWS\system32\URTTemp?

(edit: didn't know you need to escape

Seems we need Microsoft.Net Framework to run this
      app.
Warning for Win98 users. I found version 1.1 runs ok, but updating
.net to the newest version causes dreaded shutdown problems for this
      outdated OS.

 | Good luck with this app.By strange coincidence I heard a tune last
night that I haven?t heard in years.
From now on it will remind me of
      Pirates@Home.
Too bad they refer to the wrong coast. But I can ignore
      that.
